First day of May! Oh how the days go by. So fast! We are halfway to 2004! Well, almost. How are you all doing? I'm doing fine. Last night I had to work but it wasn't bad at all. I was able to do some reading.

I was reading from Extreme Devotion, there was the letter of Maria from Russia to her mom and dad. She was praying for her schoolmate who is a communist named Varia. Varia said to her, "I cannot understand you at all. So many of the students insult you and hurt you, and you love them anyway." Maria told her that God taught us to love even those who are unkind. Varia asked her if she can love her too! They embraced and began to weep.

I like what Maria said on her letter. Let me quote. "When you listen to those who loudly deny God, it seems like they mean it. But life shows that many of them really have a great longing in their hearts. And you can hear the groaning of the heart; they seek something and try to cover their inner emptiness with their ungodlessness."
